Uefa Super Cup:
Venue: Stade Louis II, Monaco
Date: Friday, 29 August
Kick-off: 1945 BST
Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves will play his first game of the season in Friday's Uefa Super Cup after a tendinitis problem.
Gary Neville could also have his first competitive outing of the campaign while Nani returns after a ban.
But Ryan Giggs has a hamstring injury and will miss the game in Monaco.
Unsettled Zenit star Andrei Arshavin is with the squad but not certain to play, but Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak and new signing Danni will both feature.
Arshavin, who rose to prominence in Russia's run to the Euro 2008 semi-finals, has continually been linked with a move to Tottenham, and could yet join the London club before Monday's transfer deadline.
"He is with us but I will see tomorrow (Friday) if he plays or not, I have not yet made up my mind," said Zenit boss Dick Advocaat.
Advocaat did confirm striker Pogrebnyak, who missed Euro 2008 with knee problems, will play, as will Daani, who has joined Zenit for a Russian record fee of 30m euros (£24m).
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is competing in his fourth Super Cup - and his third as Red Devils boss - the competition which pits the Champions League winners against the Uefa Cup holders. We want to go out and get the victory as this is a prestigious game and one we want to win
Sir Alex Ferguson
His side lifted the trophy in 1991, when the winners of the old European Cup Winners Cup were the opposition for the European champions, beating FK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) 1-0.
But United lost 1-0 to Lazio in Monaco after their Champions League triumph of 1999, a memory Ferguson is determined to erase on Friday.
"I remember the last time we went there I only played half a team," said Ferguson, whose side won the Champions League by defeating Chelsea 6-5 on penalties.
"When I saw Lazio celebrating at the end, it was like they had won the World Cup.
"I was not too pleased. I thought, 'That will not happen again'.
"I will play a much stronger team tomorrow - although there will be some changes - and we will represent the club in the right way.
"The game is extremely important. We did not realise that a few years ago. There are no league games to distract us, so there is no excuse this time.
"We want to go out and get the victory as this is a prestigious game and one we want to win. There is a great incentive for us."
Advocaat, who defeated his former club Rangers 2-0 in the Uefa Cup final to qualify for the Super Cup, hailed Ferguson as the best manager in the world.
He said: "He's not just the top manager in Europe, he's top of the world.
"You can't work at that level and stay with one club for so long if you do not have exceptional qualities, it is so difficult.
"So, for me, he is the best manager in the world and the one everyone else has to look up to."
Liverpool were the last British side to capture the Super Cup, beating CSKA Moscow 3-1 in the 2005 final.
The Anfield side also took the trophy as Uefa Cup winners in 2001, defeating Bayern Munich 3-2.
